Police Chief Anne FitzSimmons

As the Chief Executive Officer of the seventh largest municipal Department in NY State, Chief Anne FitzSimmons oversees the management of uniform services, all investigative units, personnel and information systems.

Chief FitzSimmons has been a police officer for 36 years. Prior to her promotion to Chief of Police, she served as the Assistant Chief and the commanding Officer of the Administration and Support Services Division. This Division uses innovative community policing strategies to respond to crime problems.

Prior to this, she had served in the Detective Division for over 17 years as an investigator and supervisor, specializing in investigating violent crimes against the elderly, women, and children.

She has attended various professional schools, and recently received a Masters in Public Administration from Marist College.
