Prescription Drug Collection Unit

medreturnThe White Plains Department of Public Safety recognizes the importance of providing the community with a safe, secure location to dispose of unwanted prescription medication.

A “MedReturn Drug Collection Unit” offers residents in White Plains and nearby communities a place to safely dispose of unused or expired prescription medication. The drug collection box is located just inside the Public Safety Building’s Night Entrance at 77 So. Lexington Avenue. If you want to dispose of unused medications, but are physically unable to make it into the Public Safety Building, please call us to discuss alternatives at 914-422-6111. 

This program provides an environmentally safe alternative to disposing of medications in the landfill or sewer systems which can later negatively affect the environment. It will also reduce access to addictive medications for accidental or intentional misuse by children or adults in the home.
