Red Light Safety Camera Program

The purpose of the White Plains red-light safety camera program is to increase traffic safety in White Plains by reducing red-light running violations, collisions, and injuries.

A red-light running violation occurs when a motorist enters an intersection after the traffic signal has turned red. A red-light running violation also occurs when a vehicle does not come to a full and complete stop for a turn-on-red. This violation, in both situations, is a non-moving infraction and does not result in the assessment of points against the driver.

Rapid Recovery Program

In order to enhance our abilities to positively respond to incidents involving missing autistic or elderly individuals suffering from dementia, the Rapid Recovery Program was created to permit parents/guardians to provide first responders with crucial information about the individual in case of emergency. To register a child or elderly adult, all you need to do is fill out a simple two page Information Sheet.

CommunityCam Program

Video surveillance and security video have been and will continue to be an invaluable asset in assisting police departments with criminal investigations. Much of this video has come from private businesses and residents who maintain video security systems for their own personal protection, as well as to safeguard their property. The ability for police departments to identify the locations of these systems and to review footage in a timely manner is key to successful criminal investigations and apprehension of criminals.
